Planning your summer holiday? Why not add a visit to one of the top 5 LEGO Stores to your vacation?

lego stores to visit this summer 2025

With over 1,000 locations worldwide, you're never far from a LEGO Store! Here's our pick of the top 5 LEGO Stores to include in your summer holiday plans.

1. Sydney, Australia

Believe it or not, Sydney was the location where the very first LEGO Store opened back in 1984, giving the city a unique claim to LEGO fame.

That outlet closed in the 1990s, but in the run-up to Christmas 2023, Australia broke another record with the opening of (at the time) the world's BIGGEST LEGO Store at Sydney Arcade.

With 900 square metres of floor space, including Australia's first LEGO Minifigure Factory, it's a dead cert for a visit if you're spending this summer Down Under.

Look out for unique builds, including a 549,378-piece brick-built Sydney Harbour Bridge model that took 3,630 hours to assemble, plus a Sydney Opera House Mosaic with more than 300,000 bricks. Epic!

2. Shanghai, China

LEGO has a long association with Disney, dating back to 1999 and the LEGO Winnie the Pooh House set, which originally consisted of just eight bricks!

A quarter-century later, you'll find the Shanghai LEGO Store at Disneytown in the Shanghai Disney Resort. It's the first LEGO Brand Flagship Store in Asia, and opened in 2016 with around 800 square metres of retail space.

Inside you'll find a LEGO Build-a-Mini Tower, a LEGO Pick a Brick Wall, and a collection of giant brick-built models. There's also bound to be plenty of LEGO Disney sets to choose from, which are a perfect souvenir of your vacation visit to Shanghai Disney Resort!

Leicester Square London lego store

3. Leicester Square, London

The LEGO Store in Leicester Square briefly held the coveted title of world's largest, after an extension took its shop floor space to 805 square metres in August 2022, just 15 months before the Sydney store stole the crown.

It's still a VERY special experience for any LEGO enthusiast. There are giant-sized London-themed brick builds, a Tree of Discovery to celebrate LEGO's storytelling heritage, and a Personalisation Studio where you can have yourself transformed into a brick mosaic portrait or a LEGO Minifigure.

Opening hours are 10am - 10pm every day except Sundays, when the store is open 12pm - 6pm. There might be a queue during the holidays, if there's a special event, or if a popular new set is launching, so be prepared to wait at peak times!

New York City USA lego store

4. New York City, USA

The flagship LEGO Store on Fifth Avenue, New York City, opened in 2021 with a glitzy Broadway-style musical performance and an original song called 'Always Building'.

It offers a futuristic concept - a blend of physical bricks and digital experiences - to encourage interactive play and build engagement. And of course, there are some gigantic builds of local landmarks too, including Lady Liberty, the Empire State Building, and a yellow New York taxicab you can sit inside!

Spread across two storeys with 667 square metres of retail space, it packs in a lot of ideas, which were rolled out to over 100 other stores worldwide within a year of opening. Like Leicester Square, Fifth Avenue is an iconic setting for sightseeing, so you can definitely make a day of it if you're heading to the Big Apple this summer.

While you're there, see how many LEGO Marvel superheroes you can spot in the store, which has a 'City of Heroes' theme partly inspired by the Battle of New York scene in 2012's 'Avengers Assemble'.

5. Billund, Denmark

Sydney might lay claim to the first dedicated LEGO Store, but Billund in Denmark is where it all began. A visit to the LEGO House is an essential pilgrimage for any lifelong LEGO fan, and right in the middle, in LEGO Square, you'll find the ultimate LEGO Store.

Check the schedule for Make & Take events, where you can get your hands on exclusive LEGO sets that are never made commercially available. They're often some of the rarest, most limited-edition LEGO sets because of this.

If there's no event planned during your holiday, don't panic - the LEGO Store at LEGO House has some exclusive products that can't be bought anywhere else, with a new design added to the line-up each year. Find out more in our blog, which discusses all the exclusive LEGO sets released over the last few years.

Smart builders hit the Billund LEGO Store in the morning, as there's usually a rush just before it closes. You can leave your purchases and pick them up on your way out, so you won't even have to carry them around the LEGO House with you!

Billund Denmark lego store

Special Mention: Billund, Denmark (Again!)

Just a mile away from the LEGO House is LEGOLAND Billund - and the CURRENT world's largest LEGO Store.

In April 2025, a new LEGO Store opened near the resort's entrance, offering an unprecedented 993.7 square metres of shop floor. (We would have been tempted to find the extra 6.3 square metres to make it a thousand...!)

With two of the most significant LEGO Stores so close together, you could easily do both in one day, or give yourself a few days in Billund to properly explore them, the LEGO House and LEGOLAND Billund Resort too.

No matter where you're heading on your holidays this year - whether in the UK or abroad - you'll probably find a LEGO Store nearby, so you can pick up some fresh bricks to build this summer!
