LEGO Round-Up – Insiders Treasure Hunt & LEGO Insects
WIN 1,000,0000 LEGO INSIDERS POINTS AND CHECK OUT THE LATEST LEGO IDEAS RELEASE
The new LEGO Insiders scheme has officially launched, combining the old LEGO VIP with other logins such as LEGO Ideas and LEGO Shop. Not sure how the new membership club works? Check out LEGO VIP Rebranding To LEGO Insiders – All You Need To Know.
To celebrate the start of the new loyalty program, LEGO are kicking things off with a LEGO Insiders Treasure Hunt, giving collectors a chance to win a grand prize of 1,000,000 points (the equivalent of roughly £7,000 to spend on LEGO online) or other smaller prizes.
In order to join in on the pirate-themed hunt and win a share of the smuggler’s booty, fans need to download the new LEGO Insiders app on their phones. They can then scan their LEGO bricks at home or in-store to win a randomised prize.
The 1,000,000 Insiders points haul will be limited to six winners each week until the competition closes on 2nd October 2023, but there will also be a much higher chance to win thousands of on-the-spot prizes. As marketing campaigns go, it is intended to incentivise fans to download and start using the new Insiders app and become familiar with the new login.
There are 2,000,001 runners-up prizes to be won in a shared pool worldwide – so hurry up and join the game! The prizes include:
- 1,6000,000 x Digital Download of a LEGO colouring sheet (1 of 8 varieties available allocated at random)
- 100,001 x Code Redemption for an exclusive Torso in the LEGO Tower App
- 100,000 x Digital Comic Book – LEGO Star Wars
- 100,000 x Digital Comic Book – LEGO Spider-man
- 100,000 x Digital Comic Book – LEGO Batman
From the LEGO terms and conditions: There is a maximum of 1 entry into the prize draw permitted per person per weekly promotion period. There will be 54 winners in total across the promotion period, with one announced per week in each participating country.
LEGO IDEAS The Insect Collection – 21342
£69.99
Let’s move away from LEGO Insiders for a moment and get back to the latest LEGO set releases!
Insiders can enjoy early access to this 1,111-brick set on 4th September 2023, with the model available to order for everyone else on 7th September 2023. The Insect Collection is based on a winning LEGO INSECTS Ideas entry from hachiroku24, focusing on three distinctive bugs – the Blue Morpho Butterfly (Morpho peleides), Hercules Beetle (Dynastes hercules), and Chinese Mantis (Tenodera sinensis).
Butterflies are some of the most beautiful flying insects on Planet Earth, and the brick-built Blue Morpho is probably the most eye-catching element of the set, with its blue wings with dotted black edges. That said, the aptly-named Hercules Beetle also catches our attention with its impressive battle horns. The praying mantis is also one of the most alien-like bugs in the wild, with thin green limbs and large eyes on its strange head. The LEGO version of this slender predator includes its unique folding claw arms.
Each insect is shown in its natural habitat, with plenty of tiny hidden details to spot, such as the red ladybird on the branches beside the Chinese Mantis and the buildable honeybee investigating the flowers next to the butterfly.
Speaking about their fan-sourced set being chosen for construction, José María Pérez Suero said, “I’ve always found insects interesting and loved learning about their rules and roles in our ecosystem.”
LEGO IDEAS The Insect Collection 21342 is perfect for insect lovers who want to spruce up their windowsills or similar empty spaces at home. It also forms part of the fast-growing LEGO Botanical Collection, which is certainly worth checking out for some nature-themed models to brighten up your spaces.
