LEGO Ideas – Cullen House and Botanical Gardens Chosen for LEGO Production

TWO ARCHITECTURAL FAN MOCS SELECTED TO BECOME FUTURE LEGO SETS

LEGO Ideas – Cullen House and Botanical Gardens Chosen for LEGO Production

This week saw the reveal of the Polaroid OneStep SX-70 Camera 21345, originally based on a fan design in the fiercely competed world of LEGO Ideas. This fan-building competition runs throughout the year with various main stages and special one-off themes, relying on fan votes and LEGO judges to select the winning entries.

Having your LEGO design selected from thousands of MOCs to enter official LEGO production is no mean feat, and congratulations go to fan designers and budding architects Valentina Bima (Goannas89) and Nick Micheels (LobsterThermidor), whose models of two very different buildings have been picked.

TWILIGHT: CULLEN HOUSE

Fan designer Nick became a big fan of Twilight as an adult, and this recreation of the Cullen family home will appeal to any fan of Stephenie Meyer’s vampire saga and the five movies made between 2008 and 2012. Along with minifigure versions of the main characters, the house itself is cleverly realised in the modern architectural style seen in the films. The tall tree and numerous interior details help to complete this inspired model.

Hopefully, the LEGO team will not change too much before the set’s official release.

THE BOTANICAL GARDEN

This classic rendition of a botanical garden instantly reminded us of Kew Gardens in London, with its white, Victorian-esque architecture and curved glass windows to let plenty of light inside the building. Such a structure is an inspired idea for a LEGO set, as the transparent windows allow the interiors to be seen in detail. Naturally, this nature lover’s abode is filled with plenty of greenery and exotic plants in brick form!

We can’t wait to see how the LEGO team interpret this one…
